For your trip to Japan, instead of landing in Tokyo, you may have chosen to start your trip near Osaka or Kyoto, at Kansai International Airport (KIX).

Haruka Express Train: Access to a number of destinations and major cities is made easy thanks to the Haruka Express on the Kansai Airport Line! The train departs from KIX Terminal 1, with a final destination of Kyoto Station. On the way, the train also stops in Osaka.

We strongly recommend booking tickets for reserved seats during peak travel times to assure a comfortable journey from the airport, especially after a long flight.

Limousine Bus: These express buses are comfortable coaches connecting Kansai International Airport (KIX) from Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 to downtown Osaka or Kyoto. It’s a convenient, reliable and economical option for making this journey.

The trip from Kansai airport to Umeda station in Osaka takes around 60 minutes. Your luggage is taken care of, with up to two pieces per person allowed at no extra charge.

The trip from Kansai airport to Kyoto station takes around 85 minutes. Departures are frequent, with 1 to 2 buses per hour.

Nankai Rapit Express: This fast, comfortable train operated by Japan's Nankai Electric Railway connects Kansai International Airport (KIX) with Namba, the lively district in central Osaka. It's one of the most popular and fastest options for travelers to Osaka. The journey to Namba station takes around 35 minutes, with frequent departures every 10 minutes throughout the day. Namba station is one of the two best-connected stations in Osaka - you can catch various subway lines, JR trains and buses.

Shared Shuttle: This is a minibus transfer service from Kansai Airport to Kyoto city. This shared shuttle (for up to 8 people) takes you from the airport terminal to the address in Kyoto of your choice (hotel, AirBnB, train station…). Allow around 1.5 hours for a trip between Kansai Airport and central Kyoto.
