Japan Rail Pass - What if my voucher has been torn or damaged?

Please be sure to keep your Japan Rail Pass voucher in a safe place before your trip, as there are very strict rules for replacing your voucher.

If your voucher has been torn or damaged somehow before exchange, this may affect its validity and JR staff in Japan may refuse to exchange it if any of the information is not clearly legible.

If this happens please contact us with a photo of the voucher as soon as possible, so that we can determine if a replacement voucher may be required or if you will be able to use the existing one.

Note that to receive a replacement you would need to mail the damaged voucher back to us at your own expense, and a voucher reprinting fee plus a reshipping fee would apply, unless you have purchased our JRP Care service.
