Attending a sumo tournament is a popular activity in Japan, for visitors and locals alike!
Once the tickets go on sale in Japan they sell out extremely quickly, so we accept bookings for sumo tournament tickets on our website in advance, before the tickets even go on sale.
To avoid disappointment due to lack of availability, we recommend placing your order as early as possible, so that we can book your requested tickets as soon as they go on sale. Children aged 4 and older will need their own ticket. Depending on the number of bookings we receive, we may stop the sale of tickets at any time.
We reserve the right to offer you an alternative date if your requested date is unavailable. If we cannot accommodate your request, we will cancel your order and issue a full refund.
The tickets we sell are:
- Standard balcony seats (chairs)
- Box seats: These are closer to the action, and can only be used in groups of 2 or 4. You must remove your shoes and sit on a cushion on the floor. Be aware that the boxes are not large, and sitting there for long periods may be uncomfortable for some people. Availability is limited.
The venue:
It opens at 8:30am, except on the final 3 days when it opens at 10:30am, and at 10am on the final day. Matches take place all day until 6pm.
Top-division sumo wrestlers usually start appearing from around 2pm, with the highest level wrestlers in late afternoon.
You can enter and exit at any time during the matches, but note that re-entry is limited to ONE time only.
