The Welcome Suica card's first use or charge MUST be done in the TOKYO area (JR, Tokyo Metro, Odakyu ticket vending machines, etc.). After the first charge in Tokyo, it can then be used on transport all over Japan.
You can charge your card at the following stations:
- JR stations in the Tokyo urban area:
- ANY station on the Yamanote Line. This includes:
- Shinjuku station
- Shibuya station
- Tokyo Station
- Shinagawa station
- Ikebukuro station
- Ueno station
- JR East Area:
- Narita Airport station
- Yokohama station
- Kamakura station
- Tohoku Shinkansen stations (Sendai, Shin-Aomori etc…)
- Any other JR East area stations that have ticket machines
- Non-JR transportation in Tokyo area:
- Tokyo Metro stations
- Odakyu stations
- Keisei Railways stations
- Keikyu Haneda Airport station (NOT available at Tokyo Monorail station)
- Tobu Railways stations
- Any other Pasmo zone stations
NOTE: The first charge of the Welcome Suica Card CANNOT be done at the pink JR Charge machines. Please use the regular green or black JR machines instead.
