How to get to Kawaguchiko

Kawaguchiko, situated in the Fuji Five Lakes region, is known for its picturesque views of Mount Fuji mirrored in Lake Kawaguchi's waters. Travellers often visit for the serene atmosphere and the opportunity to admire the famous mountain, complemented by activities such as lake cruises, onsen visits, and outdoor pursuits like hiking and cycling. With its beautiful natural scenery and various recreational options, Kawaguchiko is known as a popular destination offering a peaceful retreat.


There are two main ways to get to Kawaguchiko:


By Train:
from Tokyo take the JR Chuo line from Shinjuku station, to Otsuki station (1h-1h30), then the Fujikyu train to Kawaguchiko station (55 min).
You can use the JR Pass for the JR Chuo line, however for travel with the Fujikyu train you will need to purchase a separate ticket. 


By Bus:

from the Shinjuku parking lot (1h45 by Keio bus or Fujikyu bus).
