Kawaguchiko, situated in the Fuji Five Lakes region, is known for its picturesque views of Mount Fuji mirrored in Lake Kawaguchi's waters. There are two main ways to get to Kawaguchiko:
By Train:
From Tokyo take the JR Chuo line from Shinjuku station, to Otsuki station (1hr-1hr30), then the Fujikyu train to Kawaguchiko station (55 min).
You can use the JR Pass for the JR Chuo line, however for travel with the Fujikyu train you will need to purchase a separate ticket.
By Bus:
Buses to Kawaguchiko depart approximately twice per hour from Shinjuku Bus Terminal (1hr45 by Keio Bus or Fujikyu Bus).
